Superintendent of Schools Search
The Board of Education of the Hamilton Central School District is accepting applications for the position of Superintendent of Schools. The search process will be conducted over the next several months.
The Board will be assisted in the selection process by Mr. Scott A. Budelmann, District Superintendent & Chief Executive Officer of the Madison-Oneida BOCES. All application materials should be sent to Mr. Budelmann for initial review. Applicants are prohibited from contacting the Board or individual board members.
The Board will make all decisions concerning the selection process, the evaluation of candidates and the selection of a final candidate. The Board hopes to appoint a new Superintendent of Schools to assume their role on or about July 1, 2026.
Stakeholder Involvement
The Board of Education of the Hamilton Central School District is very interested in the input of its stakeholders, but the Board will make all search, selection and appointment decisions for the next Superintendent of Schools.
- A. Employee Meetings: The Search Consultant has scheduled employee meetings to provide information and answer questions about the search process and the Board’s efforts to select its next Superintendent of Schools.
- B. Survey Opportunity: Between September 19 and October 20, 2025, stakeholders who are students, parents/guardians, employees, local business persons or community members, are encouraged to provide the Board with input through the survey link that will be available on the website.
- C. Stakeholder Advisory Committees: Through its Search Consultant, the Board will convene Stakeholder Advisory Committees. The Stakeholder Advisory Committees will meet with the Search Consultant to discuss the characteristics they would most like to see in the next Superintendent of Schools. The Hamilton Central School District Board of Education will make all search, selection and appointment decisions for the next Superintendent of Schools. The Stakeholder Advisory Committees are as follows:
- 1. Administrators’ Stakeholder Advisory Committee: Consisting of up to ten Hamilton CSD employees identified by the Hamilton CSD Board of Education.
- 2. Teachers’ Union Stakeholder Advisory Committee: Consisting of up to ten Hamilton CSD employees selected by the Teachers’ Association President.
- 3. Non-Instructional Stakeholder Advisory Committee: Consisting of up to ten Hamilton CSD employees selected by the SEIU President.
- 4. Students’ Stakeholder Advisory Committee: Consisting of up to ten individuals selected by Hamilton CSD administrative staff.
- 5. Parent/Guardian & Neighbors Stakeholder Advisory Committee: Consisting of up to ten individuals selected by the Hamilton CSD Board of Education.
- 6. Community Leaders Stakeholder Advisory Committee: Consisting of up to ten individuals selected by the Hamilton CSD Board of Education.
