Athletic News:
The Girls Varsity Team opened up their season this weekend by winning the Mt. Markham Optimist Tournament for the 2nd year in a row.
In Game 1, Sophomore Eve McCorkle scored from downtown with 15 minutes remaining to break a 0-0 tie and Junior Rihana Dye found Senior Chloe LaFrance for the final goal in the 2-0 win.
In the Championship game under the lights against the hosts, the team fell behind 1-0 early, only to respond with a goal from Senior Chloe LaFrance, assisted by Junior Logan Langel and the 2nd half game-winning goal from Sophomore Abbey Hope, assisted by Senior Reagan Hope. Sophomore goalkeeper Ellie Freeth secured the win with a late save.
All-Tournament team members were Eve McCorkle, Chloe LaFrance, Adey Catania, and Abbey Hope, but this championship belongs to all 17.
Friday night, both volleyball teams crushed Cortland for wins.
JV won 2-0. Zaida Ostrander had 1 kill, 1 dig, 4 aces, and 10 assists. Ellie Olsen had 5 kills, 8 digs, and 6 aces. Cheyanne Bennett had 1 assist, 3 kills, 8 digs, and 8 aces.
Varsity defeated Cortland 3-0. Polly Hansen-Rodriguez had 1 assist, 4 aces, 7 kills, and 8 digs. Kaitlyn Baker had 2 kills, 4 digs, 2 assists, and 8 aces. Alivya Packer had 6 digs, 7 assists, and 6 aces.

Volleyball has home games both Tuesday and Thursday this week - come out to support them!
The Hamilton JV Boys beat Cazenovia 4-0 on Friday. Jude Page Fagon had 2 goals, Matthias Page Fagon had 1 goal and 1 assist, and Jordan Mullenax had 1 goal. Gavin Olney and Tyler Jacobsen each had 1 assist.
Elijah Meyers had 1 assist and 4 saves. The JV plays today vs Rome Free Academy at 4:30pm at home.
Despite a tightly contested game, the boys’ varsity team lost to Fabius last Friday, 0-1. Cooper Roy made seven saves in the game and was named to the tournament all-star team along with Gavin Hames and Levi Neuenschwander. The team plays their first home game tonight at 6pm against RFA.
