Attention current NHS members! If you are looking for service hours, think about volunteering to help Sports Boosters sell raffle tickets this Saturday at the Farmers market. Please sign up on Mrs. Roy’s door (now room 110) by Wednesday afternoon.

The first Mathletics meet of the year will take place this Saturday, September 21st at Canastota. Any student who is currently taking, or has already completed, Algebra 1 is eligible to participate in Mathletics. The bus will leave HCS promptly at 8:05 AM and will return at about noon. Permission slips and health forms are available on the poster by room 117. Please return your completed forms to your math teacher by Friday.

The first Language club meeting of the year will be tomorrow during lunch in Miss King’s room. Any student in grades 9-12 is welcome to attend!

MUN lunch meeting today in room 217.

There will be high school student council meetings at lunch for the rest of the week to discuss spirit week. If you have a conflict with another meeting or Colgate class, please see Mr. Jones. Thank you.

There will be a Freshman class officer meeting on Thursday, September 19th during high school lunch. Please come to Mrs. Freeth’s room as soon as possible.

Athletic News:

The boys modified soccer team traveled to Richfield Springs yesterday to take on the Eagles and won by a score of 5-3. Starting the scoring for the Knights was Liam Darrow off an assist from Lukas Sirtoli. Julius Smith, Charlie George, and Thomas Jackson all chipped in one apiece, and Sirtoli capped off the win with a great finish off a pass from George. Iain Dosanjh had 5 saves in the net. The knights play again against Poland at home today at 4:30. Great job, team!

The Girls Varsity Soccer Team scored early and pulled away for the victory over the Town of Webb. Great teamwork led to 8 Emerald Knights scoring goals, led by junior Logan Langel’s hat-trick with two assists. Freshman Morgan Carhart added her first varsity goal. Also scoring goals were Eve McCorkle with two, Reagan Hope plus two assists, Kristen LaFrance plus two assists, and Chloe LaFrance, Polly LePage, and Rhiannon Murray with one. Claire Filipowicz added an assist.

The girls Modified Soccer Team kicked off their season opener at home last night against the Timberwolves of the Town of Webb. Despite the heat & lack of subs, the ladies left those Timberwolves howling with a 4-0 win. Scoring was led by Lila Sharp-Ballinger with 2 goals, Anna Lee Shoemaker with 1 goal, Ella Pretrie with both a goal & an assist, & Chloe Gridley with two assists. The girls next bout will be this Wednesday in Oriskany.
