Attention music students: Any middle school or high school music student who would like to audition for All-County band, orchestra or chorus should sign up with their music teacher. There is a $7.00 fee. Please bring in your $7.00 ASAP. If paying by check, please make out checks to “HCS Band Fund”.

Attention current NHS members! If you are looking for service hours, consider volunteering to help Sports Boosters sell raffle tickets this Saturday at Farmers market. Please sign up on Mrs. Roy’s door (now room 110) by Thursday morning.

Attention 6th graders: You may have noticed appointments are being sent to your google calendar for your individual meetings with Ms. Torre. Sixth grade meetings will begin next week. If you click “YES”, it will save to your calendar as a reminder. You will also receive a pass in forum on your day and time.

There is a Language Club meeting today during high school lunch in Miss King’s room. Any student in grades 9-12 is welcome to attend!

Junior and Seniors - On Wednesday, September 25th from 6:00pm - 7:15pm we will be holding a virtual College and Financial Aid Night. Hey 6th graders! Ready to have some fun and explore the great outdoors? Join the Hamilton Outdoor Group (HOG) for awesome games, cool nature adventures, and tons of outdoor fun! We’ll play games that get you moving, work together as a team, and learn how to be awesome leaders! Plus, you’ll get to make new friends and discover the amazing nature all around us. Make sure you grab a permission slip from the Counseling Office and turn it in by September 23rd!

TOMORROW is School Picture Day! You will receive a schedule based on your homeroom tomorrow morning in forum. Please be sure to follow that schedule and see Mrs. Kowalski with any questions! And please DO NOT wear green!!!

National Suicide Prevention Fact of the Day: Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death among people aged 10-14, the 3rd leading cause of death among those aged 15-24 and the 12th leading cause of death overall in the U.S. If you, or someone you know, may be experiencing suicidal ideations or thoughts, please tell a trusted adult as soon as possible. Throughout all of these conversations, just know that you are all important, you are all loved, and you are all integral building blocks to the foundation of our HCS family and you are all needed in order for our HCS community to shine as bright as it does.

Athletic News:

The boys modified soccer team lost a tough fought battle to Poland yesterday afternoon. While being down 2-0 in the first half, Luke Sirtoli scored off a PK to make it 1-2. The Knights played a great second half, but ultimately fell short by a score of 5-3. In the third quarter, Julius Smith scored off an assist from Charlie George, and George rounded out the scoring with a perfectly-placed goal off a free kick just outside of the box in the fourth. Iain Dosanjh had eight saves in net. No practice today. The Knights play again on Monday at 4:30 against Town of Webb.

Girls volleyball teams defeated both Bishop Ludden on Monday and Weedsport on Tuesday.

JV won against Ludden 2-1, and Weedsport 3-0. Shout outs to Breanna Hoke with all her aces, and Ellie Olsen with so many kills and her first block of the year.

Varsity played aggressively against Ludden to win 3-0. Kaitlyn Baker had 2 digs, 2 kills, and 5 aces. Alivya Packer had 1 kill, 6 digs, 2 aces and 13 assists. Cameron Cleveland had 3 aces, 13 digs, 10 kills, and 2 blocks.

In a whirlwind of a game, Varsity beat Weedsport 3-1. Polly Hansen-Rodriguez had 1 ace, 2 assists, 1 block, 16 digs, and 6 kills. Jayden Schwarting had 2 kills and 12 digs. Cameron Cleveland had 3 aces, 11 digs, 10 kills, and 5 blocks. The highlight of the night was pulling 8th grader Zaida Ostrander up for her Varsity premier. She dominated with 9 digs, 1 ace, and 15 assists.

Girls volleyball now sits at the top of Section 3 Class D. Amazing job ladies!

The boys’ varsity soccer team battled for 100 minutes against Poland last night in a game that ended in a 1-1 draw. Bryce Wright scored the goal for the Knights on an assist from Gavin Hames. Cooper Roy made four saves in the game. The team travels to play West Canada Valley tomorrow.
