Congratulations to the following music students for their placements at the all-county music auditions on Saturday:
Julia Peck placed #2 in the county on alto saxophone competing against a number of juniors and seniors in the senior high division.
Annalee Shoemaker placed 3rd in the county on clarinet competing against a number of other 7th graders as well as 8th graders in the middle school division.
Tian Xin Zheng placed 2nd in the county on alto sax competing against a number of 7th graders as well as 8th graders in the middle school division.
Jazz band will meet after school TODAY until 3:30. If you cannot attend rehearsal, please let Mr. Coldren know.

The Freshman Class will be holding a Can and Bottle Drive on Saturday, November 2nd from 10-12pm in the HCS parking lot. You drop them off, the freshman class sorts and counts! Please consider bringing your cans and bottles to help out this class fundraise.

There will be a middle school student council meeting on Tuesday October 29th during lunch in room 110. We will be voting on officers so if you are running for an office, please be prepared to make a short statement. Any student in grades 6-8 is welcome to attend this meeting.
Athletic News:
The Waterville Football team lost Friday night 36-6 at Tupper Lake. Chase Wyant-Smith tallied 3 tackles and Ryan Mosher added a tackle. The Eagles travel to Bishop Grimes Saturday, Nov. 2nd for a 12 pm Sectional play-off game.
The boys’ varsity soccer team advanced to the next round of sectionals with a 3-1 over Lyme on Friday. Gavin Hames led the Knights with one goal and two assists, while Sawyer Latella and Luke Langel each added one goal. Bayden Pretre earned one assist. Cooper Roy made seven saves to secure the win. The team plays Belleville-Henderson on Wednesday, at 5pm at Jordan-Elbridge High School.
The cross country team competed in the Center State Conference race in Westmoreland on Saturday. The weather was quite perfect though with a fair amount of wind to counter the speed of the runners. Hamilton only brought 5 out of their 15 athletes. For the girls: Ingrida Morkevicius got 58th and Anna Platt got 59th out of 77 female runners. For the boys: Hero Sinsawat Got 93rd, Gavin Moshier got 64th, and Matt Berry got 13th out of 95 male runners and was awarded All Star being within the top 20. Great work team! Sectionals will be on Saturday, November 9th at Mount Markham.
The Girls Varsity Soccer team defeated #6 DeRuyter 6-0 on Saturday in the Section III Class D Quarterfinals. Sophomore Eve McCorkle headed home sophomore Abbey Hope’s corner kick to start the 1st half scoring and within 2 minutes, junior Logan Langel’s shot found the back of the net on an assist from McCorkle. Eve finished with 2 goals and 2 assists, while sophomore Kristen LaFrance, freshman Polly LePage, and senior Reagan Hope added goals. Senior Katelyn Simpson, senior Chloe LaFrance and junior Claire Filipowicz added assists. Sophomore goalie Ellie Freeth made 1 save for her 12th shutout of the year, behind defensive efforts from Abbey Hope, senior Adey Catania, Simpson, and junior Rihana Dye. Congrats to the seniors who finish a perfect 8-0 at home on the Stadium Field. With her goal, senior Reagan Hope surpassed the 100 career points mark, congratulations to Reagan!
The team will travel to Carthage HS to play #2 LaFargeville on Tuesday night at 7pm.
