Athletic News:

Congratulations to The Girls Varsity Soccer team who were named co-Section III Class D Champions on Friday, after a double overtime, 1-1 draw with Copenhagen. This is the first Section III Championship for girls soccer since 2001. Copenhagen moves on to Regionals after a PK shootout win.

Sophomore Abbey Hope’s 2nd half free kick found sophomore Eve McCorkle who headed home the goal to give the Emerald-Knights the 1-0 lead. After Copenhagen tied the score with just over 6 minutes remaining, the Knights continued to create many opportunities that just didn’t find the back of the net. They never gave up and left everything on the field after playing for 110 minutes. The team ends the year 17-2-1, the team's most wins in 23 years.

Well done to the seniors, setting a high bar for next year’s returning players, as well as the new players to the varsity program.

The team would like to thank the school community for their support during the season and wish both the boys soccer team and the girls volleyball team good luck this week as they continue to compete for their championships.

Waterville Football ended their season with a 46-33 loss on Saturday to Bishop Grimes in a sectional quarter final battle. Chase Wyant-Smith ended his career with 7 tackles in the game. Congrats Chase on an impressive career! Thank you to all who supported Waterville Football this season son.
