Attention all music students: If you wish to participate in the NYSSMA solo festival, your fees are due by this Friday, February 14th. Please see your music teacher for the amount of your fee. This is a firm deadline. No fees will be accepted after Friday February 14th.
The junior class will be selling Valentine’s Day Grams during both middle and high school lunches Monday through Wednesday this week. The cost is only two dollars each, so be sure to buy some for the special people in your life!
Congratulations to Jaylen Rider, Maddie Chouinard, Dylan George, Sela Nelson, and Elijah Meyers on their 5th place finish at Saturday’s Mathletics meet. Hamilton remains in 4th place in the overall competition. Thank you to all eleven students who participated. Our next meet, which is also our last, is April 5th in Camden.

Athletic News:
On Saturday, the boys varsity basketball team defeated Morrisville 78-59. Leading the Knights was Drew Baker with 21 points and 14 rebounds, Bryce Wright with 21 points, Caleb Neuenschwander with 19 points, and Teddy Freeth with 12 points and 6 steals. The team plays tonight at Westmoreland at 7pm. On Tuesday, the team hosts Sauquoit and will be honoring the seniors, game time at 5:00pm.
Over the weekend the Girls Varsity Basketball team beat Sauquoit to improve to 15-3. Leading HCS was Reagan Hope with 14 points, Chloe LaFrance with 11 and Logan Langel with 10. Cameron Cleveland had 5 blocked shots on the defensive side. Good win girls. Tuesday night the varsity girls host Morrisville. We will be recognizing our seniors players at that time.
On Saturday, the VVS varsity wrestling team competed in the Class B Section 3 Class tournament. Andrew LaFrance had a tech fall and a pin. Congratulations Andrew on qualifying for sectionals this coming weekend.
Congratulations to Claire Filipowicz, the Section 3, Class D Indoor Track Champion in the 600m. She ran a great race in Saturday’s sectional meet, with a PR of 1:43.62 seconds-she is now ranked second across all NY State in Division 4! She also placed 5th in sectionals in the 55m hurdles.
And Congratulations to Matt Berry who ran a strong race in a stacked field, with a sub-5 minute mile and a time of 4:58.57, placing him 6th in the 1000m.
On Saturday the 8th grade boys basketball team beat Sherburne-Earlville 25-19 to improve to 5-2 on the season. Liam Darrow led all scorers with 9 points, while Julius Smith, Alec Toomath, and Alex Oney each pitched in 4. The team played outstanding defense on the day. Great win boys.
The 7th grade boys basketball team remained unbeaten on Saturday defeating Sherburne-Earlville. The comeback kids were at their best, trailing 23-19 entering the 4th quarter, the team outscored S-E 13-2. Seven players scored on the day, Brent Baker (8), Lukas Sirtoli (6), Owen Mullenax (5), Louie Child, Thomas Jackson, Neel Davray (4) and Charlie George (1).
On Saturday the girls modified basketball team won a nail biter over Owen D Young 31-28. Leading the way was Chloe Gridley with 10 points followed by Fyre Youngs with 5 points. Annalee Shoemaker & Ivy Snyder each had 4 points. With Kiley White, Lakota Sabine, Ally Catania, & Ella Pretre each adding 2. Great win ladies. Game today at home.
All boys and girls in grades 7-9 interested in playing Modified Baseball or Softball, please stay after forum this morning for a brief sign up so Coach Darrow and LePage can figure out numbers for the programs.
