Attention all music students: If you wish to participate in the NYSSMA solo festival, your fees are due by Friday, February 14th. Please see your music teacher for the amount of your fee. This is a firm deadline. No fees will be accepted after Friday February 14th.

Jazz band will meet after school today until 3:30

The SEL room will be closed for middle school and high school lunch today.

Attention all middle school students, mark your calendars for the middle school dance that will be held on Friday March, 28th from 7-8:30 pm. Stay tuned for more information.

Attention Middle and High School Students: If you’re finding a class challenging and feel like some extra help could make a difference, we are offering the opportunity to work with a Colgate student tutor! This is a great way to get personalized support and boost your confidence in the subject. If this is something you would be interested in, please scan the QR code on the poster in the main office or counseling office, or click the links to complete the Google form: grades 6-8 grades 9-12. Please note: if you completed a form last semester, you will still need to complete the new form for this semester.

Syracuse University is offering a Model UN training conference this April. If you are interested and have NOT received an email from Ms. Jerome, please attend a lunch meeting on Thursday. Ms. Jerome will be in room 217 during both MS and HS lunch.

The junior class will be selling Valentine’s Day Grams during both middle and high school lunches all this week. The cost is only two dollars each, so be sure to buy some for the special people in your life!

Juniors please stay after Forum for a brief meeting.

Chess club will meet today after school in Mrs. Smith’s room. If you need the late bus please sign up before noon.

Seniors, thank you to all of you who ordered your graduation cap & gown yesterday! If you are one of the five seniors who did NOT place your order, you must now order online at nygrad.com. Please order by next Friday, February 14th to avoid extra charges.

There is a Mathletics meet this Saturday, February 8th at Westmoreland. Bus will leave HCS promptly at 8 AM and return about 12:15 PM. Permission slips are available on the poster next to room 117. Please return signed permission forms to Mrs. Lehmann by Friday.

Reminder that the yearbook class is hosting a spirit week next week and a pep rally on Friday. We will finish the week with a volleyball tournament. Each grade 9th-12th must have a team of 6 students with at least 2 girls and 2 boys on each team. There will also be minute-to-win-it competitions each morning. All class presidents MUST inform Mrs. Kowalski of the volleyball team players, coaches, AND volunteers for the minute-to-win-it games by FRIDAY, February 7th!

Reminder that the purpose of this spirit week and pep rally is to get excited about our 2025 yearbook! Be sure to purchase the yearbook online before Friday, February 14th!

Athletic News:

The Modified Girls basketball team defeated Waterville 36-15. Chloe Gridley led the way with 10 points, followed by Annalee Shoemaker & Ivy Snyder with 6 points. Also scoring were Zaida Ostrander, Fyre Youngs, Lila Sharp-Bellinger, Skye Nelson, Ally Catania & Ella Pretre. Great job ladies!

The 8th grade boys basketball team lost a tough game to Waterville last night 33-20 to fall to 4-2 on the season. The team responded well to a rough first half after being down 23-3 at halftime and had a much better second half, outscoring Waterville 17-10 in the second half. Liam Darrow led all scorers on the night with 12 points, 10 coming in the third quarter. Julius Smith pitched in 3, while Nolan Dunlay and Isaac Alfonso each had two. Practice today at 3:00.

The 7th grade boys basketball team beat Waterville 33-24 last night to improve to 6-0 on the season. Brent Baker (12) and Louie Child (11) led the scoring, while Charlie George (6), Lukas Sirtoli and Owen Mullenax (2) added buckets. Team defense closed the door on Waterville in the 4th quarter.
