Attention all music students: If you wish to participate in the NYSSMA solo festival, your fees are due by this Friday, February 14th. Please see your music teacher for the amount of your fee. This is a firm deadline. No fees will be accepted after Friday February 14th.

Jazz band will meet after school today until 3:30

There is a Junior FFA meeting today in Mrs. Chamberlain’s room during MS lunch.

Today is the last day to buy a Valentine’s Day Gram for that special someone! Juniors will be selling them today during middle and high school lunches! Just $2 each to send a special message and treat!

Attention Language Club members: we will take a yearbook photo tomorrow at the very beginning of lunch in Miss King’s room. Please come right at the bell so it can be quick!

SSAC students, we will be taking your yearbook club photo TODAY during your lunch meeting.

Congratulations to Senior Sarah Anne Rogers whose art piece, En Pointe, was selected for the Young at Art Exhibition at the Fenimore Museum of Art in Cooperstown! Her piece was 1 of 75 chosen out of over 300 entries. The exhibition will run from April 1st to May 7th.

Reminder that tomorrow’s spirit day is Dress like Adam Sandler Day!

Athletic News:

The Girls Modified Basketball team continued with their winning ways with a 38-15 win over Utica Academy of Science. Tag teaming in the effort were Zaida Ostrander & Chloe Gridley each with 14 points. Also scoring were Fyre Youngs, Annalee Shoemaker, Skye Nelson & Ivy Snyder. Great game ladies. Bus leaves today at 3:00.

The 8th grade boys basketball team defeated Oriskany 32-20 to improve to 6-2 on the season last night. After a slow start, the team outscored Oriskany 16-2 in the third quarter to take control of the game. Isaac Alfonso led all scorers with a career high 9 points, while Nolan Dunlay added 8,Alex Oney 7, Reece Mosher 4, and Ryan Houck and Alec Toomath each had 2. The team had an excellent night defensively, holding Oriskany to 2 points in both the second and third quarters and tallying more than a dozen blocks in the game. Great team win!

Last night the Boys Varsity Basketball team was victorious on Senior Night, defeating Sauquoit 94-13. Drew Baker led all scorers with 26 points, followed by Caleb Neuenschwander and Luke Langel each with 19, and Teddy Freeth with 15. The team plays again at home on Thursday versus Cooperstown.

The Varsity Girls Basketball team improved their record to 16-3 last night with a victory over Morrisville-Eaton. Leading HCS was Logan Langel with 24, Chloe LaFrance with 12 and Reagan Hope with 11. Logan Langel Joined an elite group of HCS basketball players with her 1000th point. Congratulations Logan on an HCS basketball milestone. Great job.

The 7th grade boys basketball team dropped their first game of the season last night 20-19. Scoring for the Knights were Lukas Sirtoli (8), Brent Baker (4), Louie Child & Neel Davray (3) and Thomas Jackson (1). Trailing by 4 with less than a minute remaining, the team battled to the final possession, closing the gap to 1 point and having the final shot at the buzzer. You should be proud of your effort in the final minutes, back at it at Westmoreland tomorrow.
