Counseling News:
To all MS/HS students: If you receive a pass for Ms. Torre or Mrs. Poyer, please be sure to check into your scheduled class for attendance prior to coming to the Counseling Center.
The Pre-ACT is being offered to sophomores on the morning of Wednesday, April 2nd. Interested students should sign up in the counseling center by March 26, 2025. This is a firm deadline to allow for test administration preparation. The fee is $19 cash, check or money orders payable to HCS. If you are eligible for a fee waiver, please see Mrs. Poyer.
Attention 9th, 10th and 11th grade students: Are you interested in a BOCES program next year? Stop by the Counseling Center to schedule a half-day visit to explore your program of interest! Today is the last day to sign up for visits scheduled next week!
Reminder to 6th graders: Your 7th grade course request forms are due TODAY! Please bring them to the counseling office or your homeroom teacher asap.

Athletic News:
The boys varsity basketball team had a solid team win in the quarter final sectional game versus Frankfort-Schuyler, 70-57. Drew Baker led the Knights with 25 points and 15 rebounds, Bryce Wright with 11, and the trio of Teddy Freeth, Levi Neuenschwander, and Luke Langel each adding 9 points for the win. The team will take on Cooperstown in the semi-final game on Monday, March 3rd at 5:30pm at Sherburne-Earlville High School.
The Girls Modified Basketball team improved to 8-1 with a 21-10 win over Owen D Young. Scoring for the team were Annalee Shoemaker with 6 points, Fyre Youngs with 4 points. Zaida Ostrander, Evelyn Fox, Lila Sharp-Ballinger, Ella Pretre, Kaitlyn Terry, & Ivy Snyder each with a basket. Game tonight at Morrisville. Bus leaves at 3:40.
The 8th grade boys basketball team improved to 9-2 on the season by beating Sherburne-Earlville 34-14 last night. Alex Oney led all scorers with 16 points, followed by Julius Smith with 7 and Nolan Dunlay with 6. The team played outstanding help defense on the night, never giving up more than 5 points in a quarter. Great win boys!
The 7th grade boys basketball battled Sherburne-Earlville to the final seconds falling just short on the night. Owen Mullenax led all scorers on both teams with a career high 13 points, while Lucas Sirtoli (6), Bentley Britton (2) and Chase Hengst (2) added baskets. Team defense was solid again limiting S-E to 1 4th quarter point. Very proud of the way the team faced adversity prior to the game and of their effort on the court. Practice for modified boys 3-4pm today.
The Varsity Girls Basketball team advanced to the sectional semifinals with a 61-41 victory over Frankfort-Schuyler. Leading HCS was Rihanna Dye with 14 points, Logan Langel with 11 points and 11 assists, Adrianna Catania with 10 points and Cameron Cleveland with 9. Great job girls. Next game is Tuesday March 4th at 6:45 vs Weedsport, location, SUNY Morrisville gymnasium.
