Reminder that prom tickets will go on sale starting on Wednesday during high school lunch. The cost is $25 single or $45 per couple. Cash and checks made out to HCS will be accepted. We also ask that you sign up during the same time if you wish to participate in the prom walk. Prom guests from other schools need the appropriate form filled out and returned by next Monday, May 5th. All prom attendees need the signed contract returned by next Wednesday, May 7th. Forms are available in the main office, in the MS/HS Google Classroom or in Miss King’s room. Please see Miss King or Mrs. Amir with questions.

NJHS Members: As a reminder, volunteer forms with 10+ hours are due on May 8th; this is a week and a half away. However, there will be a one-week extension on the form for anyone who volunteers at the Senior Citizen Breakfast on May 15th. If you would like to help at this important school event, sign up on Google Classroom! If you will be missing a class that is not a study hall, ask your teacher for permission before signing up. Thank you!

There will be a sophomore class meeting in the high school art room during lunch today.

Art club will meet after school today. Be sure to sign up for the late bus before noon.

Counseling News:

Sophomores who took the PreACT, should plan to stay after forum tomorrow, Tuesday, April 29, to get an interpretation of your results.

Seniors planning to submit an application for the Andrew D. Rossetti scholarship award should turn all documentation into the Counseling Office by tomorrow, April 29th. Please remember, Mrs. Poyer needs to complete the applicant appraisal and provide you with a copy of your transcript, so please plan accordingly.

All other scholarship applications (with the exception of 3) are due this Thursday, May 1st by the end of the day. There are no exceptions, late applications will not be accepted. This is also the deadline to complete the Senior Google form to be eligible for scholarships/awards that do not require applications. Any questions, please see Ms. Inman.

Athletic News:

The Varsity Track & Field Team competed at The Cahill Classic Friday with many athletes earning medals, achieving new PRs, and qualifying for Sectionals.

Owen Arquiett ran a new lifetime PR in the 100m (12.44) and 200m (25.13) to qualify for Sectionals in both events. Tyler Kowalski qualified for Sectionals in the 200m (25.10) and 400m (57.35) in his first ever track meet. Brayden Pretre beat his 400m PR running 1:02.21. Matt Berry and Lukas Morkevicius qualified for Sectionals in the 1600m with a time of 5:05.69 and 5:26.65, respectively. In field events, George Palmer beat his best throw in discus measuring in at 61' 5". Lastly, the team of Owen Arquiett, Matt Berry, Brayden Pretre, and Tyler Kowalski set a new 4x400m PR of 3:51.23.

On the girls side, Madeline Shoemaker set a lifetime PR in the 100m running a 15.06. Julia Peck had two PRs-one in the 200m (32.31) and one in the 400m (1:14.14). Polly LePage also had a big day, improving her 1500m time by eight seconds (6:34.79). To cap it off, Claire Filipowicz improved her season PR in the 100m hurdles (18.08) and cut 14 seconds off her 800m time to set a new lifetime PR of 2:26.68. That is the fastest time in Class D this year.

All Student-Athletes: The Sports Boosters Fundraiser will kick off on Friday after school. Please be sure to work on your contact list with your parents and store email/cell numbers in the notes on your phone. Remember, the system does not allow fake and/or duplicate emails and numbers.
