Attention Middle School: Today you will begin 6-8 math testing. Students should report to their first class after forum. You will be released at 8:10 to report to your testing site or the auditorium if your parents have opted you out of math. For test takers, please use this time to go to the bathroom, sharpen pencils…etc. Students Taking the Algebra 1 Regents exam should report to the Auditorium, HOWEVER CELL 2 Algebra students should go to class at 9:06. Please remember, any student opting out must have a written excuse signed by a parent or guardian, filed with Ms. Inman in the counseling center that notes the MATH exam. If you are unsure whether your note includes the math exam, you can check with her.
There will be a MANDATORY meeting for all junior FFA members attending the state convention on Wednesday in Mrs. Chamberlain’s room during MS lunch. Please be prompt.

Reminder that prom tickets will go on sale starting tomorrow during high school lunch. The cost is $25 single or $45 per couple. Cash and checks made out to HCS will be accepted. We also ask that you sign up during the same time if you wish to participate in the prom walk. Prom guests from other schools need the appropriate form filled out and returned by next Monday, May 5th. All prom attendees need the signed contract returned by next Wednesday, May 7th. Forms are available in the main office, in the MS/HS Google Classroom or in Miss King’s room. Please see Miss King or Mrs. Amir with questions.
Juniors: remember to sign up on the Google Doc posted in our Google Classroom if you can donate a case of water for prom, bring in white lights for us to borrow for decorating or if you can help us decorate on Friday, May 9th at 3:00 pm at the Palace Theater.

Counseling News:
Sophomores who took the PreACT on April 2nd, should plan to stay after forum this morning to get an interpretation of your results and a copy of your score report.
Seniors planning to submit an application for the Andrew D. Rossetti scholarship award should turn all documentation into the Counseling Office today. You will need to see Mrs. Poyer needs to complete the applicant appraisal and provide you with a copy of your transcript, so please plan accordingly.
All other scholarship applications (with the exception of 3) are due this Thursday, May 1st by the end of the day. There are no exceptions, late applications will not be accepted. This is also the deadline to complete the Senior Google form to be eligible for scholarships/awards that do not require applications. Any questions, please see Ms. Inman.

All Student-Athletes: When working on your contact list with your parents/guardians, consider using email rather than text. Those participants who send 20 emails (no duplicates and/or fakes) and receive 5 donations will earn a voucher to the Spirit Shop. You and those who donate will be able to purchase customized and personalized Hamilton Emerald Knights apparel and gifts.
Last night the Varsity softball team swept a double header against Class B Adirondack with scores of 9-2 and 12-0. The team got off to a hot start in game 1, scoring 5 runs in the first inning, and tacking on 4 more in the 4th. The offense was paced by Eve McCorkles two doubles, while Rih Dye and Kate Simpson each scored two runs. Ellie Freeth picked up the win, while striking out 11 batters and giving up only 3 hits. Game 2 was much tighter, staying tied until the top of the fourth inning, when Izzy Catania drove in Adey Catania on a triple, and Ellie Olsen had a pinch hit RBI single to make the score 2-0. The team would then put the game out of reach in the 5th inning scoring 10 runs in the frame. Izzy Catania had 2 hits and 2 RBI in the game, while Ellie Freeth picked up 2 RBI of her own and Eve added another double! Freeth again picked up the win, striking out 10 while only surrendering two hits. The team is now 6-0 to start the season. Great wins ladies, keep on rolling!
On April 28, 2025 Cazenovia Varsity Girls Lacrosse beat Watertown Immaculate Heart 21 - 10. Madison DeAngelis had 2 goals and 5 assists. Next game at Tully vs. Southern Hills on April 29, 2025 at 5:15pm. SPECIAL CONGRATULATIONS to Madison for getting her 100th varsity career assist in the game vs. Jordan-Elbridge. She is also the current Section III leader in assists this season amongst all classes & all grades - great job, Madison!
