Today’s lunch menu: Assorted Pizza, garden side salad, fruit and milk.

Prom tickets are on sale during high school lunch. The cost is $25 single or $45 per couple. Cash and checks made out to HCS will be accepted. We also ask that you sign up during the same time if you wish to participate in the prom walk. Prom guests from other schools need the appropriate form filled out and returned by this Monday, May 5th. All prom attendees need the signed contract returned by next Wednesday, May 7th. Forms are available in the main office, in the MS/HS Google Classroom or in Miss King’s room. If you go to BOCES and are not here for lunch, please see Miss King or Mrs. Amir to purchase tickets.

Juniors: remember to sign up on the Google Doc posted in our Google Classroom if you can donate a case of water for prom, bring in white lights for us to borrow for decorating or if you can help us decorate on Friday, May 9th at the Palace Theater.

Reminder: dress up for spirit week on Monday with denim on denim!

The Sophomore class is selling the best donuts ever made, so buy a box of Krispy Kreme donuts from a sophomore today! They will be on sale through May 26th and delivered the first week of June! Any sophomores who need forms should see Mrs. Kowalski asap!

NJHS Members: If you still need volunteer hours, see Google Classroom for information about two upcoming events, the Senior Citizen Breakfast and the Kinney Carnival. If you volunteer at one of these events, the May 8th volunteering due date will be extended by one week. Everyone else should plan to turn in their volunteer forms by next Thursday.

Grade 6 music and HS Chorus: Please bring headphones and a charged Chromebook to class. HS Chorus students who are in Band report to Band Rehearsal today.

The LGI will be closed this morning. Cell 1 and 2 IWT report to the cafeteria. Cells 3, 6, and 7 IWT report to the auditorium.

Counseling News:

Students taking the AP Biology Exam on Monday should report directly to the library at 8 AM. Please make sure your chrome books are fully charged and bring your power cord just in case.

Athletic News:

The varsity tennis team had an impressive showing at the annual CSC tournament in Utica yesterday. The Knights rallied up five victories collectively against tough opponents like Mt. Markham, Waterville, Herkimer, and Poland. Winning for the Knights in singles matches were James Hanmer and Vivi Linden. The doubles teams of Tyler Kowalski & Elijah Meyers, and Thaddeus Trefeissen & Matthias Page Fagon also picked up victories. Andrew Holm made it to the semi finals in an impressive afternoon performance. Great job squad! The team plays again today against Poland in their first home match of the season. Come out and support the team!

The Golf team improved on the record last night, beating Owen D Young by a score of 167 to 231. Leading the Emerald Knights was Bryce Wright with a 40, followed by Dillon George with a 41, then rounding out the scores was Ezra Stahberg & Sawyer Latella with a pair of 43’s. The team’s record improves to 2-1 on the season.

The Varsity Softball team lost to Sauquoit last night in a back and forth game. Sharing the offensive load with one hit each were Ellie Freeth, Kate Simpson, Izzy Catania, Adey Catania and Rih Dye. Adey also had 2 RBI. Ellie Freeth and Izzy Catania split pitching duties, with Freeth striking out 6 and Catania 4. Game at home today against West Canada at 4:30.

The varsity baseball team lost to Sauquoit last night. Luke Langel went 1 for 2 with 3 runs scored. Colin Olsen added 2 hits and an RBI, and Levi Neuenschwander, Caleb Neuenschwander, Jack Penoyer, and Cooper Roy each had hits in the game as well.

All Student-Athletes: IT’S LAUNCH DAY! Make sure your contacts are in the notes of your phone and not on paper. Have a photo of yourself ready to use for your profile picture. The more everyone is prepared, the smoother the launch and the quicker we’re done. The Launch will be at 2:45 in the Cafeteria.
