Hamilton Rotary Exchange Program
Open your home to a student visiting Hamilton from another country and receive the “gift of the world”. The Hamilton Rotary has been sponsoring teenagers from around the world through the International Rotary Youth Exchange Program for decades and has been proud to connect these youth with our Hamilton families and community. Many have created life-long friendships and with today’s Internet they stay connected for years to come. The Hamilton Rotary Youth Exchange program is seeking two - three families to host a student from India for the 2016-2017 HCS school year. The Hamilton Rotary will receive more details about this young person within the next month.

During this time as an active and participating member of their family and community the exchange student attends school and joins in after school activities, volunteers at special Rotary events, and hangs out with their new friends.  While in Hamilton, the student also meets with the other exchange students for weekend gatherings and has an option to travel throughout the United States. He or she will learn what it is like to live in a small community, gaining a full and rich experience of American culture. The host families learn about another culture, experience America through the eyes of someone different, make new friends, and create lifelong memories. Both the host families and student are ambassadors, teaching each other about their country, culture, and ideas. You can help bring the world closer by making a small connection at home.

Host families have the Hamilton Rotary and the District Rotary as a support team throughout the year. Hamilton Rotary Youth Exchange Officer, Patricia von Mechow says, “I’m like the Aunt or Grandmother, ready to help with a smile.” If you are interested in hosting for the HCS 2016-2017 school year or wish to be considered for hosting in future years, please contact
