The first line of the HCS touchstone reads, “At HCS we aim high and strive for excellence” and this is a statement that we take pride in. HCS has it all; a small town atmosphere, administration and faculty who are dedicated to student learning and thinking, an unbelievable arts programs, an array of extracurricular activities, talented athletes, and parents who support learning, exploration, and inquiry. With all of these rich opportunities, we are working hard to stay on the cutting edge of technology integration so that students can be connected to a culturally diverse world which is otherwise limited in Hamilton. Enter: The Think Tank.
The Think Tank at HCS is the highway upon which our students and teachers can travel to anyplace in the world. Our students will have the opportunities to become global learners, thinkers, and leaders through meaningful, real-life experiences. Through careful planning among teachers and with the use of innovative technologies, our dedicated, hard-working students will develop life-long skills to become:
1. Global Citizens-students will have opportunities to become engaged in cultural exchanges from around the world to embrace differences and break through cultural barriers.
2. Global Communicators, Creators, and Collaborators-students will have the opportunities to learn with and from their peers, professionals, and teachers from around the world in a variety of unique ways and create content that is reflective of their individual and collective learning.
3. Global Thinkers-students will use their metacognitive thinking skills to build a solid foundation of the world in a multitude of ways and apply it to their own individual lives.
4. Global Leaders-students will become exposed to age-appropriate, real-world issues and become activists to make a difference in their local and global communities for future generations.
