Power in Numbers: HCS Student Heads to Albany
District
HCS is honored to have one of our own students joining forces with Reality Check to bring out awareness to the dangers of tobacco. Sophomore Brandon Gotham journeyed to Albany with other student members of Reality Check to make New York State officials aware of the impact that budget cuts have on their fight against youth tobacco use. Transportation Request Deadline is April 1st, 2012
District
As per New York State Education Law, a parents' requests for transportation, to places other than their home, for the purpose of daycare, must be submitted to the district by April 1st of the preceding year. No requests will be accepted after that date unless there are extenuating circumstance or the family moves into the district after the April 1st date..

Edible Aquifers Lab
District
Ninth grade scientists were recently part of a lab that they will not soon forget! Students just finished a unit on surface water and ground water with Mrs. Orth and Mrs. Haskins. At the completion of this lab, it was clear to everyone that once the ground water is contaminated, there is no way to separate the contaminant out! HCS Students Collaborate with Colgate Admissions
District
HCS seniors were presented with a unique opportunity early this week. Colgate representatives invited them to critique images, which may be used in future media for prospective students. Volunteers Needed

The Special Education Program is looking for parent volunteers to be a parent advocate at the Committee for Special Education meetings.  Any parent who has a student that is classified under special education law can apply.  A specialized training is required and will be given on February 7 from 9:30A-1:30P at the MO BOCES Costello Center in Oneida.  If you are interested and/or... more info
